Tyrannosaurus, or T. rex, was a large theropod dinosaur from the late Cretaceous of North America.
Facts[]
It is the most famous dinosaur in the world, appearing in a lot of popular culture. It was a very large theropod, once hailed as the "King of Dinosaurs", although its once unbeaten size has been surpassed by a number of other large theropods, including Giganotosaurus, Oxalaia, Saurophaganax, Carcharodontosaurus, Spinosaurus, and possibly Tyrannotitan and Chilantaisaurus. However, in terms of mass, more recent estimates show that it most likely; speculation wise; surpasses most of the aforementioned creatures. A related, also very large tyrannosaur from about the same time in Asia, Tarbosaurus bataar, may belong to this genus.
