Planet Dinosaur is a documentary television series created by Nigel Paterson and Phil Dobree, produced by the BBC and Jellyfish Pictures, and narrated by John Hunt. The first episode, Lost World, aired on BBC One on 14 September 2011. It is the network's first major dinosaur documentary since Walking with Dinosaurs. The series features well over fifty different dinosaur species and the scenery is completely CGI. The plots of each episode mainly consist of recent scientific discoveries.

Based on the latest paleontological discoveries from all continents, Planet Dinosaur tells the stories of the biggest, deadliest and weirdest creatures ever to walk the Earth. With veteran actor John Hurt narrating each episode, the gory, bleak, and brutal relationship between ancient apex predators and their gigantic herbivorous prey are brought to life using immersive computer graphics.
