Daspletosaurus torosus (frightful lizardwas a tyrannosaurid dinosaur from the late Cretaceous of North America.

FactsEdit

DescriptionEdit

Daspletosaurus Torosus was an 8-9 metre long tyrannosaur, powerfully built, stocky with a muscular S-shaped neck and relatively small arms.

Diet Edit

Daspletosaurus was a huge predator with banana sized teeth. It had a powerful neck and skull with powerful legs. Perfect skills and equipment for large prey. It's prey was the rhino sized Chasmosaurus or Centrosaurus. It would scavenge too, on carrion and carcasses. Just like most tyrannosaurids it would often fight ceratopsians in its ecosystem. The first time it was seen it was hunting a Chasmosaurus all alone, but once it had chased the Chasmosaurus away more Daspletosaurus appeared, later they killed the Chasmosaurus. The same pack were seen later hunting a migrating herd of Centrosaurus.

CannibalismEdit

Daspletosaurus and the rest of the tyrannosaurs may have been cannibals, judged by the marks on some of the bones.

Episode 3:  Last KillersEdit

A Daspletosaurus tries to kill a Chasmosaurus, but is unsuccessful. Later, a pack of Daspletosaurus consisting of juveniles and adults kill the Chasmosaurus. Later in the episode, a pack of Daspletosaurus attack a herd of Centrosaurus. When the wet season is over, the battle for rotting flesh begins, and a Daspletosaurus scares away some Troodon and feeds off a carcass. The camera then shows a patchwork of bodies on the dried up riverbed, with dinosaurs feeding off them.
